rename path

I recently switched from using wordpress for my site to Drupal and tried to use the path rename, but it wouldn't allow me to name the path to the same as what wordpress had it (e.g. www.mysite.com/index.php/blahblah.html). so everything that was indexed in google search now takes you to the 404 page, can you show us how to change the 404 page to maybe a search page or something that says that they are at the correct site but the article is somewhere else? hoping that they won't just leave but will continue to poke around the site.
